ABOUT ME

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I’m a Systems Administrator who took a non-traditional path into tech. After working in real estate and running my own MSP, I realized I was more excited about solving technical problems than managing properties. That shift led me into infrastructure, cloud migrations, and eventually into my current role at SOFWERX.
These days, I’m focused on cloud infrastructure, automation, and cybersecurity—always looking for ways to improve systems and learn something new. I like taking on challenges that stretch my skills, whether that’s learning a new tool, troubleshooting something weird, or building out a more efficient workflow. I'm not looking for easy. I'm looking for better.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
Tech isn’t just a job for me—it’s what I do for fun. I spend a lot of my free time in my homelab experimenting with new setups, automating tasks, and breaking things on purpose so I can figure out how to fix them. I like projects that make me stretch—whether that’s learning new tools, scripting solutions, or chasing down certifications.
Lately I’ve been focused on sharpening my skills in cybersecurity, infrastructure, and automation. I'm also working on a few side projects in Python and Django to improve my dev chops and build things I’ll actually use. I’m always trying to push myself a little further, one project at a time.
BEYOND TECHNOLOGY
At the end of the day, I’m a husband and dad who values quality time with my family. We cook together, go hiking when the Florida heat allows it, and do our best to slow down in a world that doesn’t. I’m a big believer in getting outdoors and reconnecting with nature... but only when the weather cooperates. I’m not about that 95-degree, 110% humidity life.
I come from a Greek family and married someone from the same island of Crete, so our home is basically fueled by olive oil, sarcasm, and a competitive drive to win the title for best spanakopita and pastitsio. My daughter says I make the best tzatziki—but please, never tell her Thia Jojo. I’m not ready for that kind of heat.
When I get time to myself, I gravitate toward the finer things—like B-movies such as The Toxic Avenger 4: Citizen Toxie, which is a misunderstood cinematic tour de force. I also read a lot of sci-fi novels, ideally the kind with laser swords, space politics, and cover art that looks like it was drawn during a blackout. I know this all sounds pretty refined and sophisticated, but try not to be overwhelmed—it’s just who I am.
