About Me
Identity
Professional Background
I didn’t come into tech the traditional way. I started out in real estate, then moved into running an MSP to help small businesses. That experience pushed me deeper into the technical side of things and made it clear where I actually wanted to spend my time. From there I moved into infrastructure and cloud, and eventually into my current role at SOFWERX supporting work around emerging tech for special operations. These days I spend most of my time on cloud architecture, automation, and building systems that don’t fall apart the second something goes wrong. I like working through problems that don’t have clean answers, whether that’s building something from scratch, digging into something weird, or finding a better way to do something that already “works.” I’m not really interested in easy. I’m interested in doing it better.
Beyond Technology
At the end of the day, I’m a husband and a dad. Most of my time goes into my family. We cook, get out for hikes when the Florida heat gives us a break, and try to slow things down when we can. I come from a Greek family and married into the same island of Crete, so our house runs on olive oil, sarcasm, and a quiet competition over who makes the best spanakopita and pastitsio. My daughter says I make the best tzatziki, but please never tell her Thia Jojo. When I get time to myself, I lean toward B-movies like The Toxic Avenger 4: Citizen Toxie, which I will defend, and sci-fi novels, preferably the kind with space politics and questionable cover art.
Professional Philosophy
"The way you get a better world is, you don't put up with substandard anything." — Joe Strummer
My background in both business and technology changes how I look at things. I don’t just think about the technical side. I think about what the system is actually supposed to do for the people using it.
